Idahoans are more than familiar with snow. The entire state gets its fair share of the white stuff during the winter months. However, there is one place that consistently gets an incredible, record-breaking amount of snow every year. Island Park is a hidden gem of a town with only around 250 residents. It’s beautiful all year long but it’s absolute bliss during winter when the entire area is blanketed in pristine, white snow. Island Park gets an average annual snowfall of a whopping 211 inches! It’s an incredible winter destination that you absolutely have to experience.

Island Park boasts over 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, all of them boasting breathtaking scenery of the surrounding region. If you don’t own a snowmobile, you can find one at any of the numerous Island Park snowmobile rental companies.

Island Park’s famous WinterFest is the perfect opportunity to experience this humble town for yourself. It has a little bit of something for everyone. Recreation is abundant with plenty of space for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and downhill skiing. Alternatively, the small town atmosphere is perfect for your next relaxing getaway. Island Park may be small, but it’s certainly worthy of a visit.
